Business Academy and State language school providing state language exam

The History of the School:

Our school dates back to 1895 when it was founded in Hradec Kralove as College of Commerce

In 1945 the school was renamed and became Business Academy of Jiří Purkyně. Its premises were in the Liberty square (today’s dean’s office of Hradec Kralove University)

In 1949 the school was renamed again and became College of Economic Affairs, in 1960 it became Secondary school of Economics. The school was then moved from the Liberty square, namely to the building of the former school of Chemistry on ČSA road.

In 1964 State Language School is founded as part of the school

In 1990 the school obtained its former name Business Academy and since 2006 it has been called Business Academy and State language school providing state language exam.

Problems connected with insufficient conditions of the building on ČSA road were solved in 2008 by moving the school to the premises of the former primary school V Lipkach

There are currently two branches of studies provided by the school:

Business Academy – a four-year day study intended for those leaving primary school, focused on economics in general. By passing the maturita exam (leaving-school exam) students obtain secondary education in the area of business. Based on this, our students continue their studies at university or start work in the field of business, in municipal offices and so on.

Economic lyceum with English – a four-year study intended for those leaving primary school. By passing the maturita exam our students obtain complete secondary education. Starting from year 1 there are more lessons of English than usual and from year 2 some of the optional subjects are taught through English. Based on this, our students continue their studies at university and major in economics and other subjects as well.
